Gymalaya Newmarket is a premier recreational gymnastics facility located in Newmarket, Ontario. Founded in 2008, Gymalaya has proudly served the York Region community for over 18 years, delivering high-quality, engaging physical education to children.We are seeking a dynamic, growth-minded Assistant Gym Manager. Your Responsibilities: * Operational Leadership: Manage day-to-day facility operations, maintain high safety and cleanliness standards, and step in as the acting manager on duty. * Team Management: Supervise, mentor, and evaluate a team of coaches and assistants; conduct and participate in staff training meetings and clinics. * Program Execution: Teach recreational gymnastics programs (approx. 3?10 hours/week) and oversee camps, clinics, and birthday parties. * Customer Excellence & Sales: Provide outstanding customer service, handle member inquiries, and actively manage client retention, enrollment, and program upselling. What You Bring (Qualifications): * Supervisory Experience: A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a leadership, supervisory, or management role (recreational facility management preferred). * Instructional Background: A minimum of 3 years of experience teaching gymnastics, Acro dance, cheerleading, or physical education to children. * Administrative Software: Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for scheduling, daily reporting, and professional communication. * Gym Management Software: Prior experience with Jackrabbit Class is preferred but not required. * Professional Attributes: Exceptional customer service skills, outstanding communication, a collaborative team-first mindset, and strict punctuality. * Availability: A flexible schedule with the dedicated availability required to work a mix of daytime, evening, and weekend shifts. * Education Asset: A background in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Early Childhood Education, or Business Administration is highly valued.
