Backend Engineer (Python + Django)

Engineering Remote / HybridFull-time We are growing Chanakya AI and looking for a backend engineer who can own APIs, write clean code, and work closely with product and frontend to ship fast. What You Will Work On Building and scaling REST APIs using Python + Django / DRF Designing database models and queries (PostgreSQL preferred) Integrating with AI services, OCR, and internal microservices Handling background jobs, queues, and performance optimisations Writing tests, improving reliability, and contributing to architecture decisions What We Are Looking For 2 to 5 years of experience in backend development Strong hands-on experience with Python and Django / Django REST Framework Experience with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL Good understanding of API design, auth and permissions Bonus: Celery, Redis, Docker, cloud, or any AI / ML exposure
