OVERVIEW The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, espresso beverages, teas, and other café menu items while delivering exceptional guest service. This role supports the daily operation of the café by maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment, accurately processing guest transactions, and ensuring all products are prepared in accordance with company standards, food safety regulations, and brand requirements. The Barista contributes to a welcoming guest experience while supporting overall café and restaurant operations. SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE * Minimum 6 months barista or café experience * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment * Strong customer service and interpersonal skills * Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques, beverage recipes, and food handling practices * Experience operating POS systems and handling cash transactions accurately * Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask * Attention to detail and commitment to quality and consistency * Food Handler Certification is an asset * Reliable, professional, and able to work independently with minimal supervision KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/ACTIVITIES * Prepare and serve coffee, espresso beverages, teas, and other café menu items according to company recipes and quality standards * Deliver exceptional guest service by greeting guests, answering questions, and providing product recommendations * Process guest transactions accurately using the POS system, including cash, debit, credit, and gift card payments * Maintain cleanliness and organization of café equipment, workstations, seating areas, and service counters * Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures in accordance with company policies and health regulations * Monitor product quality and presentation to ensure consistency with brand standards * Restock ingredients, supplies, cups, lids, and other café inventory as required * Complete opening, closing, and shift duties, including equipment cleaning and daily checklists * Support food preparation and other restaurant operations when required * Report equipment malfunctions, inventory shortages, operational concerns, or safety issues promptly to management * Assist with waste reduction, inventory control, and cost management initiatives * Work collaboratively with team members to maintain efficient café and restaurant operations GENERAL * Fluent in English and effective communication with guests, team members, and management * Compliance with all company policies, operational standards, and safety procedures is required * Must maintain professional behaviour, confidentiality, and team-oriented conduct * Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays * Perform other duties as assigned to support restaurant operations and brand standards LOCATION: MG Greek Cafe 410 Bathurst St. Toronto, ON Pay: From $17.95 per hour Experience: * Barista: 1 year (required) Language: * English (required) Licence/Certification: * Food Handler Certification (required) Work Location: In person
