Chief Financial Officer

Attolon Partners has been retained by a highly respected, well-established Mid-Atlantic law firm to identify its next Chief Financial Officer. This is an opportunity for an accomplished finance executive to join the firm's senior leadership team and play an important role in its continued evolution. Working closely with executive leadership and firm partners, the CFO will lead the finance function while bringing greater insight, discipline and strategic perspective to financial and business decision-making. The mandate extends well beyond accounting and reporting. The CFO will help modernize financial systems, processes and reporting; strengthen planning and analytics; and provide leadership with greater visibility into performance, profitability and financial trends. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and CPA required. 15+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including significant senior leadership responsibility for a complex professional services organization. Law firm or professional services financial leadership experience required. Prior CFO, senior finance executive, or comparable leadership experience is preferred. Deep understanding of law firm economics and financial operations, including partner compensation and distributions, profitability, pricing, realization, WIP, collections, trust accounting, and working capital management. The ideal candidate is an experienced finance leader with a strong technical foundation who can move comfortably between strategy and execution. They will be analytical, commercially minded and confident working with sophisticated stakeholders, while remaining hands-on enough to understand the details of the business.
