educational assistant

Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Tasks: Help students individually or in small groups with assignments and reinforce learning and retention concepts under the supervision of classroom teacher. Perform other duties assigned by school principal. Supervise students during school and extracurricular activities. Monitor students during recess and lunch hour. Assist students with integration into the classroom and school setting. Monitor and report student progress to classroom teacher. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years. Support for newcomers and refugees: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees. Does not require Canadian work experience. Support for youths: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports youth employment.
