Job Description Job Description Controls Engineer / Automation Specialist - PLC Programming & Systems Integration Location: Hamilton, Ontario, Canada Experience: 5+ Years Industry: Industrial Automation / Systems Integration Travel: Required Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer / Automation Specialist with a strong background in PLC Programming , Industrial Automation , and Control Systems Integration to support the design, programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting of automated industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in automation and systems integration , with hands-on expertise in Siemens PLCs , Allen-Bradley PLCs , Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) , Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) , and Machine Vision Systems . Experience with Industrial Robotics , Robot Programming , and robotic integration is considered a strong asset. This position is based in Hamilton, Ontario , and requires travel to customer facilities for automation projects, equipment installation, commissioning, and technical support. Key Responsibilities Develop, program, troubleshoot, and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) , including Siemens and Allen-Bradley (Rockwell Automation) platforms. Design, configure, and integrate HMI Systems for industrial equipment, machine control, and operator interfaces. Program, configure, and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and industrial motor control systems. Integrate and support Machine Vision Systems for automated inspection, quality control, and production applications. Perform PLC Troubleshooting , Control System Diagnostics , and debugging of automated manufacturing equipment. Support Industrial Automation Projects , including equipment startup, testing, installation, and System Commissioning . Work with electrical, mechanical, and engineering teams to integrate automation equipment and improve system performance. Troubleshoot and optimize automated machinery, production equipment, and industrial control systems. Provide on-site technical support during Machine Startups , Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) , and customer installations, as required. Travel to customer locations to perform On-Site Commissioning , system integration, troubleshooting, and technical support. Assist with Robotic Automation and Robot Integration projects when applicable. Qualifications & Requirements Minimum 5+ years of experience in Industrial Automation, PLC Programming, or Systems Integration . Strong hands-on programming and troubleshooting experience with Siemens PLCs and Allen-Bradley PLCs . Experience with Rockwell Automation and Siemens Automation Systems . Proven expertise in HMI Programming , configuration, and troubleshooting. Experience working with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and industri
