About the Role We are a premier manufacturer of high-end custom store fixtures and architectural millwork. We are seeking a skilled Engineering Manager to help lead our technical design and detailing team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between creative design concepts and flawless shop floor execution. You will mentor a talented team of engineering detailers, oversee the production of precise shop drawings, and collaborate closely with project management and CNC manufacturing teams to bring major retail environments to life. Key Responsibilities * Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and schedule daily tasks for a team of engineering designers and detailers. * Technical Drawing Review: Oversee and approve 2D/3D shop drawings, construction details, and material take-offs to ensure accuracy and manufacturability. * Production Support: Collaborate with CNC programmers and shop floor supervisors to troubleshoot fabrication, joinery, and assembly challenges. * Project Liaison: Work alongside Project Managers to review architectural plans, value-engineer products, and meet strict project deadlines. * Quality Standards: Maintain and enforce high engineering standards in compliance with AWMAC/AWI guidelines. Qualifications & Skills * Experience: 5+ years of hands-on detailing or engineering experience in custom architectural millwork, cabinetry, or commercial store fixtures. * Leadership: Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory, team lead, or management role within a manufacturing environment. * Software Expertise: Mastery of AutoCAD and SolidWorks is required. * Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of metal and wood materials, laminates, hardware, veneer matching, and wood/metal integration. * Communication: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both clients and shop craftsmen.
