About the Role

Ayr Wellness is hiring a Front-End Web Developer to design, build, and maintain user-facing web applications that support the company's digital presence and internal platforms. This role focuses on creating responsive, high-quality, accessible, and high-performance web experiences across devices and browsers. Reporting to the Senior Director of Business Applications, you'll work closely with marketing, designers, product managers, and back-end developers to build scalable web applications using the Next.js framework. The role also involves optimizing performance, SEO, security, accessibility, and overall user experience.

Ayr Wellness is a U.S. multi-state cannabis operator with more than 90 licensed retail locations across Florida, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, Nevada, and Virginia. The company cultivates, manufactures, and sells cannabis products for medical patients and adult-use consumers across its markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain responsive web applications using modern front-end technologies.
• Translate UI/UX designs into high-quality, functional, accessible code.
• Design, develop, and manage scalable web applications using Next.js.
• Implement and optimize web performance, SEO, and security features for Next.js applications.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, and back-end developers to deliver seamless user experiences.
• Optimize applications for speed, performance, and scalability.
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness across supported environments.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues across multiple environments and devices.
• Maintain code quality through best practices, peer review, testing, and documentation.
• Stay current with emerging front-end technologies, frameworks, and industry trends.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in front-end web development or a similar position.
• Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+).
• Experience with modern front-end frameworks, including one or more of:
• React
• Angular
• Next.js
• Vue.js
• Strong understanding of server-side rendering (SSR).
• Understanding of static site generation (SSG).
• Strong knowledge of SEO best practices for web applications.
• Familiarity with Git and version control systems.
• Understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility.
• Strong attention to detail and effective problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Demonstrated portfolio of responsive, production-quality web applications.
• Authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future. This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with TypeScript.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and integrating front-end applications with back-end services.
• Knowledge of modern build tools such as Webpack or Vite.
• Experience with front-end testing frameworks such as Jest or Cypress.
• Understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG).
