Description

About The Role The role owns native mobile application development across iOS and Android, building customer-facing features used by millions of monthly active users. This is hands-on, production-focused work: shipping features on tight release cycles, diagnosing crashes in the wild, and squeezing performance out of constrained devices. The engineer will sit at the intersection of product, design, and backend teams, translating roadmaps into fast, reliable, and polished mobile experiences. Decisions made in this role β€” architecture, release strategy, observability β€” directly shape the product experience and app store ratings. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and ship features across iOS (Swift/SwiftUI) and Android (Kotlin/Jetpack Compose) codebases, owning them from implementation through release Architect modular, testable mobile codebases with clear separation between UI, domain, and networking layers Integrate with REST and GraphQL APIs, WebSockets, and push notification pipelines (APNs, FCM) with robust offline and retry behavior Own mobile release operations: CI/CD pipelines (Fastlane, GitHub Actions), phased rollouts, feature flags, and store submission workflows Instrument and monitor app health using Crashlytics, Sentry, and custom analytics; drive crash-free rates above 99.5% and reduce ANR/startup latency Collaborate with designers to implement pixel-accurate, accessible interfaces and contribute to a shared design system component library Mentor mid-level engineers, lead code reviews, and set engineering standards for mobile architecture and testing practices What We Are Looking For 3–6 years of professional mobile development experience, with deep expertise in at least one platform (Swift/iOS or Kotlin/Android) and working proficiency in the other Production experience with modern UI frameworks: SwiftUI, Jetpack Compose, or both Track record of shipping and maintaining large-scale consumer or B2B apps on the App Store and/or Google Play Strong understanding of concurrency (async/await, coroutines), memory management, and performance profiling (Instruments, Android Profiler) Experience with automated testing (XCTest, JUnit, Espresso), dependency management, and modular app architecture Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience Bonus: cross-platform experience (React Native, Flutter, or KMP), mobile security best practices, offline-first sync architecture, or experience at a top-100 app by downloads
