Python Developer (WFH Role)

About the Role Hiredbuddy is seeking an entry-level Python Developer to join its remote engineering team. This role is suited to recent graduates and candidates with up to 2 years of experience who want to build their skills in backend development and contribute to web applications and APIs. You will work on backend services, RESTful APIs, database-related development, troubleshooting, and application maintenance while collaborating with senior engineers, product managers, front-end developers, and other stakeholders. The role also includes participation in an Agile development process, code reviews, documentation, and ongoing technical learning. Key Responsibilities • Write, test, and maintain Python code for web applications and APIs. • Develop and integrate RESTful services with a focus on performance and responsiveness. • Collaborate with front-end developers to connect user-facing elements with server-side logic. • Participate in code reviews and contribute to maintaining code quality. • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software. • Assist with database schema design and write efficient SQL queries. • Document code and development processes for maintainability and knowledge transfer. • Stay current with Python development trends and best practices. • Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other Agile activities. • Work with senior engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver software solutions. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. • Solid understanding of Python fundamentals, including data structures, object-oriented programming, and standard libraries. • Experience with at least one Python web framework, such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI. • Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL. • Familiarity with Git and version control workflows. • Understanding of RESTful API design and protocols. • Ability to write clean, readable, and maintainable code. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team. • Willingness to learn new technologies and take on new challenges. • Must be authorized to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications • Internship or project experience involving Python development. • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. • Exposure to containerization tools such as Docker. • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. • Knowledge of unit testing and test-driven development.
