Senior Java Developer Hybrid Location: Plano, TX or McLean, VA Work Arrangement: Hybrid Experience Level: Senior Industry: Financial Services / Banking We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join our client's technology team in Plano, TX or McLean, VA . The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot , designing and implementing REST APIs and microservices , and deploying scalable solutions in AWS environments. This role is ideal for a senior-level engineer who can contribute across application development, cloud technologies, automated software delivery, and production support within a highly regulated enterprise environment. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java and Spring Boot. Develop scalable and secure RESTful APIs and microservices. Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, from requirements and design through development, testing, deployment, and production support. Build and integrate cloud-native applications and services using AWS. Develop solutions that are scalable, highly available, secure, and maintainable. Work with UNIX/Linux environments for application development, deployment, troubleshooting, and production support. Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate application builds, testing, deployment, and software delivery. Apply automated testing and engineering best practices to improve software quality and delivery velocity. Troubleshoot application, API, infrastructure, and production issues and provide effective solutions. Collaborate with architects, developers, QA engineers, DevOps teams, product managers, and other stakeholders. Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical standards, documentation, and engineering best practices. Help modernize legacy applications and transition services toward cloud-native and microservices-based architectures. Required Skills & Qualifications 6+ years of professional software development experience. Strong hands-on experience with Java. Strong experience with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem. Proven experience developing REST APIs and microservices. Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services. Strong knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments. Experience with CI/CD and automated software delivery. Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software design principles, and enterprise application architecture. Experience with automated testing and modern software development practices. Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in financial services, banking, or other highly regulated enterprise environments. Experience with distributed systems and cloud-native architectures. Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka. Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases. Experience with infrastructure automation and DevOps practices. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies. Experience working with large-scale enterprise applications and high-availability systems.
