About The Role You'll build the interfaces customers use to understand, allocate, and reduce their cloud, AI, and data spend: data-heavy views, interactive charts, and Noros, our AI agent, across the app. You'll join the Experience team and work closely with our Product Designer on the design system and components every team builds on, so building consistent, accessible UI is the easy path for every engineer at North. We're hiring for this role without a fixed level. We'll level you based on experience and on how you work, using our engineering ladder. What You'll Do Build and ship frontend features from design through release, and watch how they perform afterward. Implement and roll out design system components, and document them so using them is the easy path for other engineers. Make data-heavy interfaces fast, clear, and accessible. Write frontend tests and help strengthen our end-to-end testing. Review frontend changes from other engineers and help them ship consistent work. When the same frontend question or fix keeps coming up, improve the component or framework so the next engineer doesn't run into it. Work with product and design to shape features before they're built. What We're Looking For 3+ years building production web applications with a modern frontend framework. Strong TypeScript, HTML, and CSS fundamentals. Experience implementing and maintaining a design system or shared component library. Care for interaction details, performance, and accessibility. Testing discipline, and the habit of verifying your work before calling it done. Pragmatic, informed use of AI coding tools. Clear communication with designers, product, and backend engineers. Nice to have Strong proficiency with Svelte, SvelteKit, or equivalent modern frameworks. Experience with data visualization or charting libraries. Experience with Storybook or similar component tooling. Experience building conversational or AI-driven interfaces. Some backend experience, ideally in Python. Familiarity with FinOps or financial data. Work setup Hybrid role based in New York City, with an office in Dumbo, Brooklyn.
