The Role The firm is seeking a Database Administrator to help maintain, enhance, and evolve its database and data infrastructure. This is a hands‑on role with ownership over mission‑critical systems, working closely with engineers, technologists, and business stakeholders. The position offers exposure to multiple database technologies and the opportunity to influence both day‑to‑day operations and longer‑term data platform strategy. Key Responsibilities Maintain, optimize, and support production database environments across multiple platforms Analyze existing application and database architectures, including: A third‑party booking and risk management platform Multiple in‑house developed systems using different database technologies Contribute to technical strategy and decisions around data models and database design Ensure databases are appropriately resourced for performance, scalability, and resilience Implement and maintain monitoring to minimize downtime and improve observability Perform routine operational tasks such as installations, upgrades, patching, and disaster recovery testing Troubleshoot live production issues through to resolution, including post‑mortems and root‑cause analysis Participate in discussions, prototyping, testing, and support of next‑generation database solutions Must‑Have Technical Requirements Candidates must have hands‑on, production experience with all of the following technologies: PostgreSQL Microsoft SQL Server MongoDB ClickHouse In addition, candidates should have: Strong expertise in ANSI SQL (DDL, DML, normalization, transactions) Deep understanding of query optimization, indexing strategies, and performance tuning Experience with profilers, query analyzers, and execution plans Solid knowledge of data warehousing concepts, schema design, and partitioning Understanding of database security, access control, and auditing Desired Skills and Experience Candidates must have hands‑on, production experience with all of the following technologies: PostgreSQL Microsoft SQL Server MongoDB ClickHouse In addition, candidates should have: Strong expertise in ANSI SQL (DDL, DML, normalization, transactions) Deep understanding of query optimization, indexing strategies, and performance tuning Experience with profilers, query analyzers, and execution plans Solid knowledge of data warehousing concepts, schema design, and partitioning Understanding of database security, access control, and auditing
