DevSecOps Engineer

DevSecOps Engineer Location: Herndon, VA (Onsite) Employment Type: Long-Term Contract About the Role We are seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to help build, automate, secure, and support cloud-native infrastructure and deployment platforms. In this role, you'll collaborate with engineering, platform, and architecture teams to implement scalable, secure, and reliable DevSecOps practices across enterprise environments. If you have experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD automation, and cloud security, we'd love to hear from you. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitOps practices with ArgoCD. Build and manage Kubernetes (Amazon EKS) environments, including namespaces, ingress controllers, and Helm deployments. Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform. Implement security best practices across cloud infrastructure, containerized applications, and deployment pipelines. Manage AWS cloud services, including EKS, IAM, ECR, RDS Aurora, S3, CloudWatch, WAF, GuardDuty, Cognito, and OpenSearch. Configure monitoring, logging, observability, and vulnerability scanning solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve deployment automation, operational efficiency, and platform reliability. Manage secrets, identity, and access controls using AWS Secrets Manager, Kubernetes Secrets, Cognito, and Keycloak. Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and deployment issues across multiple environments. Required Qualifications Professional experience with AWS cloud services. Hands-on experience managing Kubernetes (Amazon EKS) environments. Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform. Experience deploying applications using Helm and/or Kustomize. Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins. Experience with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD. Experience working with Docker containers and Amazon ECR. Proficiency with Git-based version control systems. Experience with PostgreSQL and/or Amazon Aurora. Familiarity with security and vulnerability management tools such as SonarQube, Trivy, AWS WAF, and GuardDuty. Experience with monitoring and logging platforms, including CloudWatch, OpenSearch, or Prometheus. Strong troubleshooting, collaboration, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Node.js or Nx Monorepo environments. Familiarity with Java 17 and Maven. Experience with Python and Poetry. Knowledge of Redis or Neo4j.
