Job Title: Senior Backend Engineer (FinTech / AWS) Location: Fairview, NJ / New York Metro Area (Hybrid: 3 days remote) Compensation: $160,000 – $202,000 + Comprehensive Benefits About the Client: Our client is a premier, nationally recognized financial services and insurance institution. They are currently seeking a high-level Software Engineer to join their engineering team in New York. The Role: As a Senior Engineer, you will be a key contributor to the design and implementation of RESTful APIs following Domain Driven Architecture. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of microservices—from cloud infrastructure set-up to deploying scalable AI solutions that streamline claims processing. Key Responsibilities: Cloud & Infrastructure: Build and manage AWS environments using Terraform (IaC) and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines. Development: Architect and containerize microservices using Kubernetes; ensure code quality through rigorous peer reviews and Junit/Mockito testing. Data Architecture: Design and optimize both SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB) database schemas. Innovation: Partner with Data Scientists to deploy AI/Machine Learning models into the production claims environment. Leadership & Strategy: Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, groom technical stories, and collaborate with Enterprise Architects on the long-term technology roadmap. Requirements: Education: Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or a related technical field (or a Bachelor’s with 4+ years of relevant experience). Experience: At least 1 year of professional experience in the following: Building complex software systems within the FinTech sector. Hands-on AWS infrastructure creation and CI/CD pipeline management. Backend development using SQL (Postgres/MySQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB) technologies. Containerization (Kubernetes) and cloud-native deployments. Advocating for high code quality via unit testing frameworks and automation. Leading solution delivery within an Agile/Scrum framework.
