Overview: Client is seeking a skilled Java/J2EE Engineer with strong experience building microservices and event-driven applications using Spring Boot and Apache Kafka, with deployment on the AWS platform. As a Software Engineer II within CCB Banking Payments, you will be a seasoned member of an agile team designing and delivering secure, stable, scalable technology products. You will contribute to critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas and business functions in support of the firm's objectives. Key Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and maintain microservices using Java/J2EE and Spring Boot. • Build and integrate event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka. • Develop and deploy cloud-native applications on AWS, leveraging services such as ECS, S3, Lambda, RDS, IAM, and related services. • Design and implement RESTful APIs with a focus on security, scalability, and maintainability. • Collaborate with product, engineering, and partner teams to define requirements and deliver features. • Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to maintain high quality. • Apply best practices for CI/CD, monitoring, logging, and operational excellence. • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues; participate in incident/problem management as needed. • Document technical designs, architectural decisions, and operational runbooks. • Support production environments and Run the engine activities Required Qualifications: • 3+ years hands-on experience with Java/J2EE and Spring Boot. • Strong experience designing and building microservices architectures. • Proficiency implementing event-driven systems with Apache Kafka. • Experience with AWS services (e.g., ECS, Terrafrom,S3, Lambda, RDS, IAM). • Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs. • Familiarity with CI/CD and build tooling such as Jenkins, Git, Maven, and Docker. • Understanding of containerization (Docker; Kubernetes is a plus). • Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). Preferred Qualifications: • Infrastructure-as-code experience (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation). • Observability experience with monitoring/logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Splunk, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana). • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams. • Knowledge of security best practices for cloud and microservices (identity, encryption, secrets management, least privilege).
