About The Role GrabJobs is seeking a highly skilled and experienced THWB PHP Developer (Backend) to join our dynamic technology team. In this fully remote position, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our backend systems that support our wellbeing platform. Your expertise will directly impact the development of scalable, secure, and high-performance APIs and backend services that enable our platform to deliver personalized health and engagement solutions to organizations. You will collaborate closely with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and optimal system performance. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess over 5 years of professional backend development experience, with at least 3 years specializing in PHP development within production environments. Strong proficiency in MySQL is essential, including relational database design, query optimization, and management. Experience deploying applications on AWS services such as EC2, RDS, Lambda, and S3 is required, along with familiarity with CI/CD pipelines. Candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to communicate effectively within a collaborative team setting. Additional skills in Python, Ruby on Rails, or mentoring junior developers are considered advantageous. Responsibilities Your key responsibilities will include designing and developing scalable backend services, RESTful APIs, and database schemas using PHP and MySQL. You will deploy applications on AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability and security. Contributing to architectural decisions and technical strategy will be vital to maintaining system robustness and scalability. Writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code adhering to best practices is expected, along with optimizing database queries for performance. Troubleshooting and debugging issues in both production and development environments will be part of your routine.
