Cloud / Solutions Architect (AWS & Data Platforms) Location: Atlanta, GA Schedule: 40 hours/week Classification: Contract Overview This role sits within a centralized analytics organization that supports multiple agencies by consolidating data, building shared platforms, and delivering insights to drive better decision-making at scale. They are looking for a Cloud / Solutions Architect to help design and guide the next generation of their AWS-based data and analytics ecosystem. This is a highly strategic, architecture-driven role focused on building scalable, secure, and efficient cloud and data solutions rather than day-to-day coding. What You’ll Be Doing • Design and guide architecture for AWS-based data platforms, pipelines, and analytics solutions across the organization • Serve as a technical advisor, helping teams make informed decisions around cloud infrastructure, data systems, and best practices • Support and optimize cloud infrastructure including EC2 environments, patching, and system health • Work across teams to improve database performance, scalability, and reliability • Collaborate with DevOps teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions • Provide guidance and support for data science initiatives including analytics, EDA, and chatbot-related work • Ensure solutions align with security, governance, and compliance standards • Partner with stakeholders across multiple teams to build scalable, reusable data and analytics solutions What They’re Looking For • Strong experience as a Solutions Architect or Cloud Architect, preferably in AWS environments • Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, architecture, and best practices • Experience with AWS services including EC2, data platforms, and cloud-based analytics ecosystems • Familiarity with DevOps practices, particularly CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar) • Experience supporting or optimizing databases and data pipelines • Ability to operate in a consultative capacity, guiding teams and influencing architecture decisions • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical stakeholders Nice to Have • Experience supporting data science teams or analytics environments • Exposure to chatbot development or AI/ML initiatives • Experience working in large, multi-team or government environments • Understanding of data governance and security best practices Day to Day Environment • Highly collaborative, working across multiple teams • Mix of strategic architecture, advisory work, and light hands-on support • Focused on building scalable, long-term solutions rather than short-term fixes Why This Role • Opportunity to impact enterprise-wide data and analytics strategy • Work within a centralized center of excellence supporting multiple teams • High visibility role influencing architecture at scale Show more Show less
