Role: Python Developer Location: Prefer Alpharetta/Atlanta, GA (or Boca Raton, FL) - but open to remote (EST Hours) Duration: 6 - 12 months Will the candidate have access to the development environment and / or Personally Identifiable Information (PII)? Yes Supplier will have to conduct in-person verification of candidate upon offer extension as part of onboarding compliance Job Description: Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Python contractor to support development, debugging, and issue resolution efforts. This is a hands-on role focused on quickly understanding existing systems, fixing defects, and delivering reliable code improvements. Key Responsibilities: • Write, modify, and maintain Python code for existing applications • Debug and resolve defects in production and non-production environments • Quickly analyze issues, identify root causes, and implement fixes is a must • Support API development and troubleshooting (REST services) • Work on enhancements, bug fixes, and small feature implementations • Collaborate with team members to understand requirements and issues • Review logs, debug failures, and improve system stability • Work with databases to troubleshoot data-related issues Required Skills: • Strong hands-on experience with Python development (3–7 years) • Proven experience in debugging and troubleshooting production issues • Experience with web frameworks (Flask, FastAPI, or Django) • Strong understanding of APIs and backend services • Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases • Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments • Good understanding of Git and version control • Ability to quickly ramp up on existing codebases Nice to Have: • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP) • Familiarity with logs/monitoring tools • Experience working in agile / fast-paced environments • Basic knowledge of Docker or containerized apps Ideal Candidate: • Strong problem solver with a fix-it mindset • Comfortable jumping into legacy or unfamiliar systems • Able to work independently and deliver quickly • Focused on practical solutions over theoretical design Show more Show less
