About Us Matrix Mechanical Group is a growing mechanical services company in Saint John, NB, specializing in HVAC, plumbing, gas, and electrical work across residential and commercial buildings. We're building a strong team of skilled tradespeople, and we're looking for an apprentice who wants to grow with us. The Role We're hiring a 1st to 3rd year Electrical Apprentice to work alongside our licensed electricians on service calls, installs, and mechanical room work. You'll learn the trade on real jobs, from panels and branch circuits to wiring the heat pumps, boilers, and controls our other crews put in. This is a hands-on role. You'll spend your days with a journeyperson who is responsible for your training and your safety, and you'll be expected to show up ready to work, ask good questions, and take direction well. What You'll Do Service & Installs * Assist licensed electricians on residential and light commercial jobs * Run and secure wire, install boxes, devices, panels, and fixtures * Help wire and terminate mechanical equipment, including heat pumps, boilers, and ventilation * Work to code and to the direction your journeyperson gives you Jobsite & Safety * Keep the truck, tools, and worksite clean, stocked, and organized * Follow site safety practices on every job, every day * Pick up material from suppliers when a job needs it Learning & Communication * Build your skills across trades by working next to our HVAC, plumbing, and gas crews * Communicate clearly with customers, the office, and the rest of the team * Use a tablet (ServiceTitan) to manage notes, parts, and job documentation What We're Looking For * 1st to 3rd year electrical apprentice * Your own reliable transportation * Hard working, dependable, and eager to learn * Takes pride in the work and works safely * Comfortable working independently and as part of a team * Positive attitude and a professional work ethic * Respectful with customers and on every job site What We Offer * $20 to $32 per hour, based on level and experience * Full health benefits, coverage starts day one * RRSP plan * Tool and boot allowance * Overtime after 40 hours in a week * 3 weeks paid vacation * Growth: room to advance as you move through your apprenticeship * Supportive team: you'll work alongside people who genuinely have your back Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $20.00-$32.00 per hour Benefits: * Dental care * Extended health care * Paid time off * RRSP match Work Location: In person
