Job Title: Manager Technology – NextGen POS Developer (Retail POS | Java | Toshiba POS) Location: Pleasanton, CA (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite) Duration: Long term About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Manager Technology – NextGen POS Developer to join a large-scale retail transformation initiative for a leading retail organization. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Retail Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, strong Java development skills, and hands-on experience with Toshiba NextGen POS technologies. In this role, you will work with a client-led engineering team to enhance and support enterprise POS applications, investigate production issues, design new features, and contribute to the modernization of retail store systems. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and enhance enterprise Retail POS applications. Define and support the technical architecture for NextGen POS solutions. Develop and integrate PIN Pad Controller (PPC) and ACE payment interface components. Build and maintain Store Integrator (SI) modules, including both GUI and non-GUI components. Develop POS applications using Java, Swing Framework, XML, and MVC architecture Integrate payment devices, including Ingenico PIN pads and related hardware. Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues across retail store environments. Collaborate with product owners, architects, QA, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions. Review application designs and code to ensure compliance with architectural standards and best practices. Support continuous improvements and modernization initiatives for POS platforms. Required Skills: Strong hands-on experience with Java development. Extensive experience in Retail Point-of-Sale (POS) systems. Experience with Toshiba NextGen POS Hands-on experience with PIN Pad Controller (PC). Experience with ACE payment framework. Knowledge of Ingenico payment device integrations. Experience with Store Integrator (SI), including AEF and POSBC. Experience developing both GUI and non-GUI Store Integrator components. Strong knowledge of Swing Framework, XML, and MVC architecture. Experience supporting Self-Checkout (SCO) environments. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience designing or architecting enterprise Retail POS platforms. Experience integrating retail payment hardware and store systems. Ability to mentor developers and provide technical leadership. Experience working in Agile development environments.
