System Administrator Washington, DC On Site Role - 4 Days a week "In Office" Overview Our client, a prestigious investment firm, is seeking a System Administrator / IT Support Engineer to join their growing technology team. This is a highly visible, hands-on role supporting executives and employees in a fast-paced, security-conscious environment. The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex technical issues, thrives in a white-glove support setting, and is comfortable owning everything from end-user support to infrastructure and systems administration. Core Responsibilities Deliver exceptional onsite and remote technical support for executives and employees, resolving hardware, software, networking, and mobile device issues. Serve as an escalation point for complex technical problems while ensuring an outstanding end-user experience. Configure, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows and Mac workstations, laptops, mobile devices, conference room technology, printers, and peripherals. Administer and support core Microsoft technologies including Active Directory, Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Exchange, file services, and related infrastructure. Support remote access technologies, endpoint security solutions, and cloud-based business applications. Lead desktop technology initiatives including hardware refreshes, operating system upgrades, software deployments, and patch management. Partner with internal teams to support employee onboarding, offboarding, workstation deployments, and access management. Maintain accurate technical documentation, asset inventory, and knowledge base articles. Work closely with vendors and service providers to coordinate implementations, maintenance, and issue resolution. Identify opportunities to improve IT operations through automation, process enhancements, and technology improvements. Assist with maintaining office technology infrastructure, networking equipment, and conference room systems while helping ensure a secure and reliable computing environment. Key Qualifications 8+ years of hands-on IT support experience in a professional corporate environment. Strong experience supporting Windows and Mac environments. Hands on experience with Active Directory, Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Exchange, networking fundamentals, and endpoint management. Experience with ticketing systems, remote support tools, and hardware deployment. Comfortable supporting executives and working in a high-touch, service-oriented environment. Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism and discretion. Experience within financial services, investment management, family office, legal, or similarly high-security environments is highly preferred.
