Position Title: Web Developer III Location: Quarterly travel to New York City(Remote role) Anticipated Start Date: Immediate hiring Expected Duration: 6+ months Experience: 5+ years Job Type: Full Time (>=40 HRS WEEKLY) Web Developer III Location: Remote (Eastern Time Preferred) Travel: Quarterly travel to New York City (1–2 days onsite for design and planning sessions) Duration: 6-Month Contract (Potential Extension) About the Role We are looking for an experienced Web Developer III with strong Python expertise to help build the next generation of AI-powered computer-use agents. This role is part of a cutting-edge research team developing web applications and simulation environments that train and evaluate advanced AI systems. The ideal candidate has a solid background in Python-based web development, enjoys building scalable applications from the ground up, and is excited about working on innovative AI research projects. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and enhance web applications using Python-based technologies. Build and scale application simulation frameworks for AI agent training and evaluation. Collaborate closely with AI researchers to create realistic application environments. Develop robust backend services and data pipelines. Extend and maintain the OpenApps research ecosystem. Build scalable infrastructure supporting next-generation AI research. Participate in technical design discussions and architecture planning. Deliver high-quality, maintainable, and production-ready code. Work independently while partnering with cross-functional research and engineering teams. Required Qualifications 5–7 years of professional software engineering experience. 3+ years of hands-on Python development experience. Strong experience building web applications with Python backend frameworks. Experience designing and maintaining data pipelines. Strong understanding of web application architecture. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced research environment. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience or interest in Artificial Intelligence. Familiarity with Computer Vision or AI Agent technologies. Experience working in research or experimental engineering environments. Strong UI/UX or graphic design skills. Experience building applications from scratch. Portfolio or GitHub showcasing end-to-end web applications is highly preferred.
