Senior Enterprise Cloud Engineer Job Type: Full-Time | Location: Remote Optomi, in partnership with a leading enterprise organization, is seeking a Senior Enterprise Cloud Engineer to join a collaborative cloud engineering team focused on expanding and maturing their AWS environment. This individual will serve as a senior technical resource responsible for cloud architecture, automation, governance, Infrastructure as Code, and operational best practices. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who enjoys building solutions from the ground up, mentoring teammates, and helping establish the standards, tooling, and processes that will support long-term cloud adoption and growth. What the Right Candidate will Enjoy: Helping shape and mature a growing AWS cloud practice from the ground up! Having significant influence on cloud architecture, governance, automation, and engineering standards! Building scalable cloud infrastructure, self-service tooling, and Infrastructure as Code frameworks! Working within a small, highly collaborative team that values transparency, ownership, and innovation! Experience of the Right Candidate: 5+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Cloud Architecture, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering roles. Strong hands-on experience designing, deploying, and supporting AWS environments in production. Experience establishing or maturing AWS environments, including governance frameworks, security controls, automation, and operational best practices. Strong Infrastructure as Code experience utilizing Terraform, including reusable modules and deployment standards. Experience with AWS Organizations, Control Tower, IAM, account management, budget controls, and cloud governance. PowerShell scripting experience for automation and operational efficiencies. Experience with GitHub and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) practices including branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines. Experience supporting cloud-native applications, microservices, and modern deployment methodologies. Responsibilities of the Right Candidate: Design, implement, and support secure, scalable AWS cloud environments. Establish and maintain cloud governance standards including AWS Organizations, Control Tower, IAM strategy, account structure, security guardrails, and budget management. Develop and maintain Terraform modules, Infrastructure as Code standards, and deployment automation frameworks. Build automation and self-service capabilities that enable development teams to deploy and manage cloud resources efficiently. Design and support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling using GitHub and modern automation practices. Evaluate cloud application requirements and provide architectural recommendations for cloud-native and hybrid solutions. Collaborate with development teams to support microservices, application modernization, and cloud adoption initiatives. Develop repeatable automation solutions using PowerShell and Infrastructure as Code principles. Review existing cloud environments and recommend improvements around security, reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency. Show more Show less
