About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Backend PHP Developer to join our dynamic team at GrabJobs. As a Backend Developer, you will be instrumental in designing scalable, secure, and efficient APIs and services that support our web and mobile applications. Qualifications To succeed in this role, candidates should possess a minimum of 5+ years of professional backend development experience, with at least 3+ years specializing in PHP development within production environments. Candidates should have hands-on experience deploying applications on AWS, utilizing services such as EC2, RDS, Lambda, and S3, and implementing CI/CD pipelines for streamlined deployment processes. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are crucial. Effective communication and collaboration skills are necessary to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Preferred qualifications include experience with Python scripting, automation, or backend services, as well as familiarity with Ruby on Rails. Mentoring junior developers and staying current with industry trends will be considered advantageous. Responsibilities Design and develop scalable backend services, RESTful APIs, and database schemas using PHP and MySQL to support platform functionalities. Deploy and maintain applications on AWS infrastructure, including EC2, RDS, Lambda, and S3, ensuring high availability and security. Contribute to architectural decisions and define technical strategies to improve system performance and scalability. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices and coding standards. Optimize database queries and schemas to enhance system performance, and troubleshoot bottlenecks in high-traffic environments.
