Job Description We are seeking a Technical Data Analyst / Data Engineer to support data management, reporting, and automation initiatives within an environmental and operational business environment. This role focuses on developing scalable data solutions, building reporting platforms, automating business processes, and integrating data across multiple systems. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical professional with strong database, reporting, and automation experience who can independently execute projects while collaborating with business stakeholders to develop practical and scalable solutions. This position may be performed remotely, with preference given to candidates who can occasionally attend meetings in a corporate office environment when required. Responsibilities Support environmental, operational, and business reporting through data automation and analytics solutions. Design, develop, and maintain scalable database architectures and data pipelines. Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and data models. Design and support ETL processes and data integration workflows. Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI, Spotfire, or similar reporting platforms. Develop automated workflows using Power Automate, Copilot Studio, Python, or comparable technologies. Integrate data from multiple internal and external systems. Develop data quality controls, validation processes, and reconciliation procedures. Analyze data issues and perform root cause analysis to improve data integrity and reliability. Document data architectures, workflows, standards, and technical processes. Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. Support ongoing reporting, automation, and data modernization initiatives. Collaborate with business users, analysts, and technical teams to improve reporting and operational efficiency. Manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Skills And Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, business intelligence, or application support roles preferred. Advanced SQL development experience required. Experience designing, building, and supporting database solutions and data pipelines. Hands-on experience with ETL development and data integration processes. Experience working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured datasets. Strong experience with Power BI, Spotfire, or similar reporting and visualization platforms. Experience developing automation solutions using Power Automate, Copilot Studio, Python, or comparable technologies. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills. Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong documentation and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Qualifications Experience within the oil and gas industry. Experience supporting environmental, regulatory, operational, or ESG-related reporting initiatives. Experience with cloud-based data platforms and modern data architectures. Knowledge of machine learning, predictive analytics, or advanced data modeling techniques. Experience supporting enterprise automation and digital transformation initiatives. Familiarity with enterprise reporting, data governance, and data quality frameworks. Work Environment Remote or hybrid work environment. Occasional travel may be required for meetings, project support, or training. Collaborative work with business, environmental, operational, and technical teams. Fast-paced environment requiring strong prioritization and project management skills.
