Job Description The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and support of the organization's data center network infrastructure. This role ensures the reliability, scalability, and security of core network services that support enterprise applications, virtualization platforms, storage systems, disaster recovery, and cloud connectivity. The engineer works closely with systems administrators, software developers, and other various teams to maintain highly available network environments while planning for future growth. Responsibilities Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise data center networking infrastructure Configure and support core routing and switching platforms Administer spine-leaf and traditional three-tier network architectures Implement and maintain high availability technologies including MLAG/VPC, Port Channels/LACP, and dynamic routing protocols like BGP Support data center virtualization platforms including VMware Implement network security controls including ACLs, segmentation, and firewall integration Maintain redundant network paths and disaster recovery connectivity between primary and secondary data centers Monitor network performance, capacity, and availability using enterprise monitoring platforms Perform firmware upgrades and maintenance while minimizing production impact Troubleshoot complex network outages affecting servers, storage, virtualization hosts, and enterprise applications Develop and maintain network diagrams, standards, operating procedures, and technical documentation Provide Tier III escalation support for critical infrastructure incidents Participate in an on-call rotation Other duties as assigned Travel - <10% Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) 3+ years of enterprise networking experience. 2+ years supporting data center infrastructure. Strong understanding of spine-leaf architecture Experience with virtualization networking - VMware Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible is a plus Experience with network monitoring and packet analysis tools.
