Hybrid: RedHat Linux System Administrator _ Boston, MA Company: MFS Investment Management Location: Hybrid onsite, 3 days in Boston (core days: Tues- Thurs) *Must be local to MA, RI, or NH Duration: 6+ month contract to perm Work auth: USC/GC/H4 EAD, etc. Anyone who can convert without immediate or future sponsorship Manager Note s: This is a mid- level role that requires expertise in working with Ansible and Veritas technologies. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience and is local to Boston with strong Unix scripting and networking principles. Financial services experience is preferred but not required. In order for the candidate to succeed in this role, they must have strong problem solving and analytical skills, and handle high-pressure situations. Experience with VMWare, Azure, and Docker or Kubernetes are a huge plu s. PURPO SE:We are seeking a highly skilled Red Hat Linux System Administrator with a solid background in managing and maintaining Linux-based infrastructure. This role requires expertise in configuration management using Ansible and proficiency in Veritas technologies for storage management and data protection. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring system stability, implementing automation, troubleshooting issues, and managing backup and recovery solutio ns. PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITI ES: 1. Linux System Administrat ion:Manage, configure, and maintain Linux serv ers.Monitor system performance to ensure optimal uptime and reliabil ity.Perform regular system patches, upgrades, and maintenance ta sks.Strong understanding of RHEL architecture and system management to ols.Solid background in Red Hat Satellite, Red Hat Cluster and IDM.Proficiency in scripting with Shell, Python, or related programming langua ges.Knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, et c.).Familiarity with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, KVM) and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, et c.).Experience with configuration management tools like Ansi ble.Troubleshoot and resolve operating system-related iss ues.2. Ansible Automat ion:Design, deploy, and manage Ansible playbooks to automate system provisioning, software deployments, and configurat ion.Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) practices to streamline system administration ta sks.3. Veritas Backup and Storage Managem ent:Administer and maintain Veritas products including NetBackup, Volume Manager, and Cluster Ser ver.Set up and manage storage solutions to ensure data availability, reliability, and integr ity.Perform backups, restores, and disaster recovery planning using Veritas to ols.Troubleshoot storage and backup issues to minimize disrupt ion.4. System and Security Complia nce:Ensure compliance with organizational policies regarding security, access controls, and change managem ent.Implement best practices in system hardening and vulnerability managem ent.Collaborate with security teams to address and remediate any ri sks.5. Collaboration and Documentat ion:Work with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure needs for applications and servi ces.Create and maintain detailed documentation for procedures, processes, and configurati ons. JOB REQUIREM ENTS:5+ years of experience in Red Hat Linux system administra tion.Hands-on experience with Ansible, including playbook and role develop ment.Strong proficiency in Veritas technologies (Volume Manager, Cluster Server, Veritas replicat ion).Solid understanding of Unix scripting (bash, Shell, e tc.).Familiarity with networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, etc.) and storage solut ions.Preferred Ski lls: Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, e tc.).Knowledge of cloud platforms is preferred.
