Software Quality Engineer

HCLTech is looking for a highly talented and self-motivated Software Quality Engineer to join it in advancing the technological world through innovation and creativity. Job Title: Software Quality Engineer Job ID: 115154 Position Type: Full Time Location: Austin, TX Key Responsibilities • Perform end-to-end System Quality Engineering (QE) including functional, integration, and system testing. • Execute manual test cases for complex systems, ensuring complete coverage and defect identification. • Develop and maintain Python-based automation scripts for test validation wherever applicable. • Collaborate with development, product, and cross-functional teams for requirement analysis and test strategy design . • Create detailed test plans, test cases, and test reports . • Identify, log, track, and verify defects using standard defect management tools. • Participate in system-level validation , performance validation (as applicable), and regression testing. • Continuously improve test processes, frameworks, and methodologies. Required Skills & Qualifications • Strong experience in Python programming (automation or scripting) . • Hands-on experience in Manual Testing / System QE / End-to-End Validation . • Understanding of software testing methodologies (STLC, defect lifecycle, test design techniques). • Exposure to system-level testing (not just UI or API). • Ability to analyze requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios . • Good debugging and analytical skills. Preferred Skills • Experience with test automation frameworks (PyTest / Robot Framework / similar) . • Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments . • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integration testing. • Experience in API testing and tools like Postman . • Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies . Compensation and Benefits A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their work location, skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
