Azure Cloud Engineer - Project-Based Req - 1-2 month-long contract We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to support a Public Safety team on a short-term project engagement. This position is expected to run for an initial one-month period , with the possibility of a one-month extension , for a total anticipated duration of up to two months. This is a full-time (40 hours per week), fully remote position , and candidates must be located within the United States and available to work 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern Time . The ideal candidate will have strong experience designing, implementing, and managing secure, scalable cloud solutions with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure environments. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage Azure infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage, databases, and networking services. Implement and maintain Azure security controls, including identity management, access controls, monitoring, and compliance measures. Develop and deploy cloud-based applications and workflows utilizing Azure services such as Logic Apps. Support migration of existing on-premises applications and infrastructure to Azure while minimizing disruption to end users. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for cost optimization, performance improvements, and enhanced security. Stay current with emerging Azure technologies and best practices and apply them to existing solutions. Support and administer Active Directory, Microsoft Entra Connect, and Microsoft Entra ID to ensure seamless identity and access management across hybrid environments. Investigate system issues and malfunctions and implement effective corrective actions. Work directly with customers and stakeholders to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver solutions. Operate effectively both independently and as part of a geographically dispersed team while maintaining timely and effective communication. Required Qualifications Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) certification or higher. Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with cloud computing platforms, including Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud. Demonstrated experience designing and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud solutions. Understanding of cloud computing concepts, including: Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) Platform as a Service (PaaS) Software as a Service (SaaS) Strong expertise with Azure technologies, including: Microsoft Entra ID Azure Networking VPN solutions Azure Policies Log Analytics Azure Monitor and Alerts Azure Backup Knowledge of virtualization and containerization technologies, including VMware, Docker, and Kubernetes. Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and determine appropriate corrective actions. Experience working directly with customers to gather requirements and resolve problems. Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
