Cybersecurity Engineer

About The Role CodeVertex Talent is hiring a Cybersecurity Engineer to strengthen application, cloud, identity, and data security through practical controls, monitoring, testing, and incident support. This is a fully remote United States position with clear expectations for communication, documentation, security, and ownership. Responsibilities Implement and maintain security controls across cloud infrastructure, applications, endpoints, identity, and data workflows. Review alerts, vulnerabilities, configurations, access patterns, and technical risks. Partner with engineering and operations teams to remediate issues and improve secure delivery practices. Support incident response, evidence collection, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions. Maintain security documentation, control records, runbooks, and risk-tracking updates. Required Qualifications Experience with cloud security, identity and access management, vulnerability management, or application security. Understanding of logging, monitoring, incident response, encryption, networking, and secure configuration. Ability to assess technical risk and recommend practical, prioritized remediation. Strong documentation, investigation, and cross-functional communication skills. Commitment to confidentiality and responsible handling of security information. Remote Work Requirements Reliable high-speed internet and a private, professional workspace. Ability to collaborate through video meetings, email, chat, shared documents, and project-management systems. Ability to work independently, protect confidential information, and meet agreed deadlines.
