Our challenge This is a hands-on Apptio technical role, not a Project Manager, Product Owner, or Business Analyst role. We are looking for someone who can configure, develop, integrate, and report within the Apptio TBM platform. Additional Information* The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Chandler AZ is $95K - $100K/year & benefits (see below). The Role Responsibilities: Part of a dynamic team building and implementing the enterprise Demand Management intake and routing capability within the Apptio platform, focused on configuration, data architecture, and scalable reporting Serves as a hands-on (“hands on keyboard”) Apptio technical resource responsible for developing solution components in TBM Studio / Apptio architecture (data tables, transforms, models, metrics, and reports). Designs and implements the end-to-end intake workflow framework within Apptio, including request capture, tollgate routing, validations, approvals/rejections, exception handling, and lifecycle management (audit trail, archival, and retrieval). Builds and maintains Apptio data tables and transformation pipelines (ingestion, joins, filters, formulas, mapping, date partitioning) to support demand intake and workflow data structures and ensure performant, repeatable refresh routines. Implements and extends the underlying Apptio data model to represent demand objects, routing attributes, stage-gates, and governance outputs, ensuring the model structure supports downstream reporting and analytics. Develops validation controls and data quality guardrails (standardized fields, mapping rules, reconciliation checks, and exception detection) to improve consistency of intake records and trust in reporting outputs Creates modelled and calculated metrics and supports model-driven calculations that enable KPI reporting (volume, cycle time, aging, status distributions, exception rates) for operational governance insights. Designs and delivers Apptio reporting artifacts (dashboards/reports/exports) that present modelled demand and governance results to stakeholders with audit-ready traceability and explainability. Implements integration patterns for inbound/outbound data exchange using Apptio Platform API and/or Datalink connectors, enabling automated uploads/downloads, scheduling, and repeatable operational runs. integration connectivity where required via Datalink (including REST-based ingestion patterns) and ensures scheduled loads complete successfully with appropriate monitoring and error handling. Executes controlled development practices within TBM Studio (project administration, versioning/branching, supports promotion/lock where applicable) and supports release readiness through 5+ years of experience in enterprise platform development/configuration and/or technology process automation (e.g., TBM/Apptio, PPM, ITSM, workflow platforms) Demonstrated experience delivering workflow-based enterprise solutions with integrations, reporting, and controlled SDLC practices Working knowledge of data modelling, integrations (API/ETL), and reporting/analytics in enterprise environments Experience operating in Agile delivery with strong documentation, testing discipline, and stakeholder management Requirements: Apptio TBM Experience TBM Studio Development Demand Management / Workflow Solutions Data Modelling & Data Architecture API & Integration Experience Reporting & Dashboard Development Preferred, but not required: ITSM Platforms PPM Tools Agile We offer: A highly competitive compensation and benefits package.
