Graduate Developer (Remote, Entry-Level)

Role Description As a Graduate Developer (Remote, Entry-Level) at Politica, you will support the design, development, and maintenance of digital tools and platforms that advance inclusive political participation. In this part-time remote role, you will assist in coding new features, fixing bugs, and improving user experience under the guidance of senior developers. You will collaborate with program and communications teams to translate organizational needs into clear technical requirements and implement them in an accessible, user-friendly way. Day-to-day tasks may include participating in stand-up meetings, writing clean and well-documented code, performing basic testing, and contributing to technical discussions and planning. You will also help monitor system performance, support integrations with external tools, and continuously learn new technologies relevant to Politica’s digital ecosystem. Qualifications Foundational software development skills (e.g., familiarity with at least one programming language such as JavaScript, Python, or similar, and basic understanding of version control systems like Git). Interest in web development concepts (e.g., basic knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and simple JavaScript frameworks or libraries). Ability to research technical solutions, follow documentation, and learn new tools and frameworks quickly. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills with attention to detail and code quality. Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical colleagues. Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and collaborate within a distributed team. Commitment to Politica’s mission of inclusive and diverse political participation, with sensitivity to gender equality and social justice topics. Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Familiarity with basic security, accessibility, and privacy principles for web applications is an advantage.
