AI Platform Engineer Location: Remote (United States, East Coast hours preferred) Compensation: $175,000 - $200,000 Base + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits About the Opportunity A rapidly growing fintech company is hiring an AI Platform Engineer to help build the next generation of AI-powered lending infrastructure and intelligent workflow automation. Following significant investment, the business is undergoing a major technology transformation, replacing legacy manual processes with production-grade AI systems, cloud-native infrastructure, and intelligent automation. This is a Greenfield opportunity to define the architecture, standards, and engineering foundations that will power AI across the organization. This is not a research role or an opportunity to build AI demos. You'll be responsible for architecting and deploying production AI infrastructure that supports document intelligence, workflow orchestration, underwriting automation, decision support, and operational AI at scale. What You'll Do Build and architect a Greenfield AI platform using Azure cloud technologies Design production-grade AI infrastructure with governance, auditability, and reliability built in from day one Develop workflow orchestration and agentic automation for document processing, business decisioning, and operational workflows Build cloud-native services using Azure Functions, AKS, Service Bus, Event Grid, APIs, and microservices Design scalable infrastructure supporting machine learning workloads, optimization frameworks, and distributed systems Implement human-in-the-loop workflows, monitoring, observability, and production controls Collaborate closely with software engineering, data, DevOps, and product teams to deliver AI capabilities into production Help define engineering standards, architecture, and best practices for the company's long-term AI strategy Operate with significant ownership and autonomy while helping shape a growing AI engineering function Ideal Background Strong software engineering experience building production systems Hands-on experience in architecting AI platforms, workflow orchestration, automation platforms, or distributed cloud infrastructure Experience with Azure technologies such as Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Azure Functions, AKS, Service Bus, Event Grid, Cosmos DB, API Management, and Key Vault Experience with workflow orchestration platforms such as Temporal, Camunda, or Azure Durable Functions Strong programming experience with .NET/C#, Python, TypeScript, or Go Experience building APIs, event-driven architectures, microservices, and cloud-native applications Experience deploying AI or machine learning solutions into production environments Strong understanding of governance, security, auditability, and production operations for enterprise AI systems High-agency mindset with the ability to drive projects from architecture through implementation and production About Us People in AI partners with innovative AI, machine learning, and software organizations to connect exceptional talent with impactful opportunities.
