Apprentice Carpenter Location: Saint John, NB Job Type: Full-Time Salary: Competitive, based on experience About the Role We are seeking a hardworking and dependable Apprentice Carpenter to join our commercial construction team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills while working on a variety of commercial projects, including office buildings, retail spaces, schools, healthcare facilities, and industrial sites. Under the supervision of experienced Journeyperson Carpenters, you will gain hands-on experience in all aspects of commercial carpentry while progressing through your apprenticeship. Key Responsibilities * Assist carpenters with commercial construction and renovation projects * Read and interpret basic construction drawings and site plans * Measure, cut, and install wood, steel stud, and other building materials * Assist with framing, drywall systems, suspended ceilings, doors, hardware, and finish carpentry * Safely operate hand and power tools, lifts, and other construction equipment * Load, unload, and organize construction materials and tools * Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site * Follow all company safety standards and site-specific safety requirements * Work collaboratively with other trades and site personnel Qualifications * Registered Apprentice Carpenter or willingness to enroll in an apprenticeship program * Previous commercial construction experience is considered an asset * Familiarity with hand and power tools * Ability to read a tape measure accurately * Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn * Ability to perform physically demanding work and lift up to 50 lbs * Valid driver's license and reliable transportation * Fall Protection, WHMIS, and First Aid certifications are assets but not required.
