Job Posting: Apprentice Electrician (All Levels) Company: United Electrical Systems Ltd. United Electrical Systems Ltd. is a growing electrical contractor specializing in commercial projects across office, retail, restaurant, and institutional settings. We operate with small, focused teams (typically 2?6 staff members) aiming for a 1:2 Journeyman-to-Apprentice ratio to ensure dedicated mentorship and hands-on learning. Our project timelines range from brief multi-day jobs to multi-month developments across the Metro Vancouver region. We do not perform residential or high-rise/tower work. Candidates should have commercial experience and be prepared to list and identify completed projects (e.g., retail stores, offices, restaurants). Key Qualifications & Requirements * Education & Experience: Completion of an Electrical Foundations program or relevant construction industry experience. Candidates aspiring toward Red Seal certification are strongly preferred for advanced apprentice roles. * Commercial Background: Prior experience in commercial settings, with the ability to reference specific completed projects. * Technical Skills: Familiarity with AC90, conduit bending, power distribution systems, fire alarm systems, lighting, and low-voltage controls. * Location & Mobility: Must currently reside in Metro Vancouver, possess a valid driver?s license with reliable transportation, and demonstrate flexibility to travel across project sites throughout the region (West Vancouver to Abbotsford). * Tools & PPE: Must own basic electrical hand tools, a cordless drill, and personal protective equipment (PPE). * Professional Traits: Punctual, reliable, honest, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently or in small teams of 2 to 6 workers. Key Responsibilities * Execute commercial electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting tasks in accordance with project specifications and safety codes. * Work closely alongside Red Seal Journeymen within a 1:2 mentorship model. * Adapt flexibly to shifting site locations, fast-paced project turnarounds, and varying project durations. * Actively build site leadership and coordination skills (including job site preparation and layout) to progress toward Red Seal Journeyman status.
