Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and driven Associate Lawyer to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer looking to develop their practice while working alongside experienced counsel in a collaborative and supportive environment. Responsibilities * Conduct thorough legal research using platforms such as LexisNexis to support case preparation and legal analysis * Assist in drafting, reviewing, and editing legal documents including contracts, and pleadings with precision and clarity * Support senior attorneys in negotiations by preparing relevant documentation and summarizing key points * Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all records are accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible * Collaborate with team members to develop strategies for case management and legal compliance * Stay informed about current laws and regulations relevant to the firm?s practice areas to ensure ongoing compliance * Manage files independently from intake through resolution. * Represent clients in the Provincial Court and Supreme Court of British Columbia, including chambers applications, case conferences, mediations, examinations for discovery, trials, and hearings. * Attend client meetings and maintain regular communication regarding the status of their matters. * Maintain accurate billing records. * Contribute to the continued growth and success of the firm through professional development and business development initiatives. Qualifications * Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school * Member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia * Minimum of 2?5 years of post-call legal experience (experience level may be adjusted based on the successful candidate) * Experience in one or more of the firm's practice areas is considered an asset * Strong research skills with proficiency in legal research tools such as LexisNexis or similar platforms * Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise, and well-organized legal documents * Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively and support negotiation processes with prepared documentation * Solid understanding of legal drafting techniques and principles of law applicable to the firm?s practice areas * Exceptional attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills * Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment Join us in this exciting role where your dedication will help shape impactful legal solutions.
