Job Title: Senior Cloud Platform Engineer Location: Remote (Preference for PST Working Hours) Required Technical Skills AWS Kubernetes CI/CD Automation Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to provide technical leadership for Platform Services supporting FedRAMP High and DoD IL5 environments. This role will drive the architecture and engineering strategy for secure cloud platform capabilities, including centralized platform APIs, reusable CI/CD components, service onboarding, deployment automation, and federal promotion workflows. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with deep expertise in cloud platforms, distributed systems, and DevOps who can influence architecture decisions, mentor engineering teams, and deliver secure, scalable, and highly automated platform solutions. Key Responsibilities Define and drive the technical strategy for Platform Services supporting FedRAMP High and IL5 environments. Lead architecture and design for centralized platform APIs, CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and automated service onboarding. Modernize manual federal deployment processes by implementing secure, automated, and policy-driven release workflows. Establish best practices for deployment validation, operational readiness, audit compliance, rollback strategies, and change management. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve dependencies and drive technical alignment across platform initiatives. Conduct architecture and design reviews with a focus on security, observability, scalability, and operational excellence. Mentor engineers, improve engineering standards, and promote best practices in design, code quality, documentation, and incident management. Participate in technical planning, risk assessments, and executive-level engineering discussions. Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Required Qualifications 8–12+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Cloud Infrastructure, Distributed Systems, or Cloud Operations. Proven experience leading large-scale cloud infrastructure or platform engineering initiatives. Strong programming experience in Python, Go, Ruby, or similar languages. Hands-on expertise with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), cloud automation, and production-grade deployment pipelines. Extensive experience with AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD automation, deployment orchestration, and production incident management. Strong understanding of cloud security, observability, reliability, and compliance requirements. Ability to translate regulatory and security requirements into scalable engineering solutions. Excellent communication, leadership, architecture review, and mentoring skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting FedRAMP High, DoD IL5, AWS GovCloud, FIPS, or other regulated government cloud environments. Experience developing platform APIs, continuous delivery frameworks, artifact promotion, deployment control planes, or platform engineering solutions. Proven success automating complex operational processes and eliminating manual deployment workflows.
