About The Role We are seeking an experienced Azure Technical Lead to join our dynamic Cloud Platform team at Fisher Investments. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for guiding, mentoring, and supporting a team of cloud engineers tasked with designing, implementing, and maintaining our Azure-based cloud infrastructure. Reporting directly to the Cloud Platform Team Lead, you will serve as a hands-on technical expert, contributing to the development of scalable, resilient, and secure cloud solutions that support our global growth objectives. Your expertise will be instrumental in optimizing cloud operations, enhancing security controls, and driving process improvements across our cloud environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence the future of our cloud infrastructure, implement innovative solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with best practices and organizational standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, deep technical knowledge of Azure services, and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements that increase efficiency and service quality. Qualifications To be successful in this role, candidates should have over 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure and cross-platform technology areas, with a significant focus on Azure cloud services. A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience managing and deploying IaaS and PaaS solutions on Microsoft Azure is required. Candidates should also possess at least 4 years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), specifically using Terraform, including managing modules, state, and CI/CD pipelines. Additionally, a minimum of 2 years of experience working with Kubernetes and containerized workloads is preferred. A strong background in implementing Azure security and governance controls, such as Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud, secure landing zones, and identity governance, is essential. Candidates should have robust networking knowledge, including DNS, routing, firewalls, and private access configurations. Scripting skills for automation, experience with Linux and Windows server administration, and familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef are also important. Certifications such as Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or Azure Solutions Architect Expert will be considered advantageous. A demonstrated ability to lead technical teams, communicate complex concepts effectively, and stay current with the latest Azure features and best practices is crucial for success in this role. Responsibilities Guide, mentor, and manage a team of cloud engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Conduct regular team meetings for code reviews, design discussions, cross-team collaboration, and training to ensure continuous development and alignment with organizational goals. Lead incident response efforts and perform root cause analysis for cloud platform services to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance. Design, implement, and maintain scalable, resilient, and secure Azure infrastructure, including automation tooling for routine operations. Oversee the configuration, deployment, and ongoing management of Azure resources, ensuring adherence to best practices and security standards. Proactively monitor and optimize the Azure environment for reliability, performance, and cost efficiency, managing cloud budgets effectively. Collaborate with solution architects and partners to ensure solutions meet security controls, compliance requirements, and organizational standards. Identify opportunities for automation, process improvements, and adoption of emerging technologies to enhance cloud operations. Stay informed about the latest Azure features, tools, and industry best practices, sharing knowledge with the team to foster continuous improvement. Analyze current cloud usage, identify risks and gaps, and recommend solutions for optimization and remediation. Ensure all cloud services and tools are deployed following best practices, with comprehensive documentation for operational consistency.
