Description
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks, structural tiles or other masonry units. Estimate materials, tools and equipment required for projects . Lay bricks, stone or similar materials to provide veneer facing. Build patios, garden walls and other decorative installations. Read sketches and blueprints to calculate materials required. Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages. Cut and trim bricks and concrete blocks to specification using hand and power tools. Lay bricks or other masonry units to build residential or commercial chimneys and fireplaces. Restore, clean or paint existing masonry structures. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Personal suitability: Accurate. Client focus. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Excellent written communication. Reliability. Team player. Screening questions: Are you available for shift or on-call work?.
