The Building Official responds to customer inquiries related to the British Columbia Building Code, the Building Bylaw, and the Zoning Bylaw, and conducts building and plumbing inspections in accordance with their certification level. As a newly established position within the City, this role represents an exciting step forward in the continued growth of our Planning Department. We are seeking a collaborative and motivated professional who is eager to join our team, help build and refine our Building Department, and contribute to delivering exceptional service to our community.Qualifications Minimum High School Diploma (Grade 12 or GED). Level I Building Inspector BOABC Certification. Level I Plumbing Inspector POABC Certification. Valid BC Driver?s License - Class 5. Minimum one (1) years? experience as a municipal building official.
