C++ Developer - Quantitative Trading Firm - New York City
Description
A quantitative trading firm with a leading position in global high-frequency strategies has built an international team of experts spanning trading, statistics, engineering, and technology — and we're looking for a C++ Software Engineer to join us in New York. We're modernizing our trading and research platform to scale our alpha trading business. The platform enables researchers to explore, test, and deploy sophisticated signals, models, and strategies across asset classes in a fully automated manner, all while hitting highly competitive latency targets. As part of this effort, you'll be responsible for building, maintaining, and supporting the systems that make this possible — including low-latency C/C++ infrastructure for high-frequency trading, interfaces with advanced networking hardware like FPGAs and kernel-bypassing drivers, and rigorous testing and code review processes. We expect you to bring strong profiling and optimization instincts, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the self-direction to know when to move and when to ask. To be a strong fit, you'll bring at least two years of experience developing HFT platforms or trading systems, solid command of modern C++ in a Linux environment, and a working understanding of OOP, multithreading, and IPC. A bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field is required. Familiarity with Linux at the kernel level, financial instruments across equities and derivatives, or market data and order entry protocols like ITCH, OUCH, or CME MDP would be a plus — as would a genuine interest in electronic markets and how they work. We offer a base salary range of $175,000 to $250,000, with performance-based bonus opportunities, a 401k, 25 days of paid time off, mental health support including therapy access, relocation assistance where applicable, paid lunches, and ongoing learning and development support. We also host international team meet-ups and provide fully equipped workstations with high-quality hardware. With no external investors or customers, we are the primary users of what we build — which means your work has direct, measurable impact on the firm. If you're motivated by hard problems, fast feedback loops, and a team that holds itself to a high standard, we'd like to hear from you. Show more Show less
