Description

About Tilted Tilted is building a new kind of internet; a unified, intelligent operating environment that ends the fragmentation of today's AI workflows. Instead of dozens of isolated tools, Tilted gives AI agents native context across a user's workflows, applications, files, and systems, so they can actually get work done. Built developer-first and community-driven, our platform is the environment where AI tools live, interact, and scale; not just another point solution. Join us if you want to redefine how people and systems work with AI, inside a product-focused, technically deep team. About the Role As Chief Technology Officer, you'll own the technical vision and architecture for Tilted's AI operating environment and lead its execution end to end. You'll set technical strategy, shape the product and platform roadmap, and build the engineering organization and culture that delivers it; partnering closely with our founders, product, and design. What You'll Do Own technical strategy, system architecture, and the platform roadmap from vision through delivery. Build, scale, and mentor the engineering team, and set an engineering culture grounded in quality, velocity, and reliability. Ensure the scalability, security, and performance of Tilted's core systems. Establish best practices across development, DevOps, and secure, reliable delivery (CI/CD, testing, observability, incident response). Translate business goals into technical plans; prioritizing features and delivering a cohesive developer experience. Represent Tilted with the open-source community, key customers, and partners; gather feedback and turn it into product improvements. What You Bring Proven leadership in technical strategy and engineering management — setting architecture direction, scaling teams, and owning complex roadmaps. Deep hands-on experience with distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and modern backend technologies (microservices, APIs, containerization, orchestration). Strong background in AI/ML platforms or agentic/LLM-based systems; integrating AI tools, managing context, and shipping developer-centric AI products. Expertise in secure, reliable software delivery and performance optimization at scale. A track record in high-growth startups, making pragmatic trade-offs under ambiguity. Excellent communication and mentorship skills, with the ability to align distributed engineering teams. Bonus Points Experience building, maintaining, or contributing to open-source platforms; including community engagement and governance. Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). Why Tilted You'll own the architecture of a platform redefining how humans and AI work together, with the autonomy to build it right. Competitive compensation, meaningful equity, and a team that ships. Show more Show less
