Overview We are seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with the public, ensuring a positive shopping experience for all our customers. The person must be 16 years or older and must be willing to work weekends plus one or two days during the week. The hours will range from 15-24 per week and there is room for more hours and more duties in the future. South Main Market is a friendly place to work and we are only open from 7:30 am to 7pm so no late nights are required. Duties * Greet customers warmly and provide assistance as needed to enhance their shopping experience. * Accurately process transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system, ensuring cash handling procedures are followed. * Maintain an organized and clean checkout area, ensuring that all products are properly displayed. * Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally. * Collaborate with team members to maintain high standards of customer service. Requirements * Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, to communicate effectively with customers and team members. * Previous experience in cash handling or retail sales is preferred but not mandatory. * Familiarity with POS systems and technology sales is a plus. * Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. * A friendly demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers.
