What You'll Do As a Child and Youth Worker, you will: * Provide direct care and supervision to children and youth in a residential setting. * Build positive, trusting relationships through consistency, compassion, and respect. * Support children with daily routines, personal care, life skills, and community involvement. * Implement individualized care plans, behaviour support strategies, and safety plans. * Support children during behavioural escalations using trauma-informed and relationship-based approaches. * Administer medications in accordance with organizational policies and procedures. * Complete accurate daily documentation, shift notes, medication records, and Critical Incident Reports (CIRs). * Transport children to appointments, school, recreational activities, and community outings. * Assist with meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry, and maintaining a clean and welcoming home environment. * Participate in recreational, educational, and cultural activities with children and youth. * Maintain open communication with Team Leads and management regarding concerns or significant events. * Participate in team meetings, training, and ongoing professional development. * Follow all licensing requirements, organizational policies, and Canadian Accreditation Council (CAC) standards. * Perform additional duties as required to support the needs of the program. What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications * Diploma in Child and Youth Care, Child and Youth Worker, Early Childhood Education (ECE), Social Work, Human Services, or a related field preferred. * Equivalent education combined with relevant experience may be considered. * Experience working with children and youth with behavioural, developmental, medical, or mental health needs is considered a strong asset. * Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. * Ability to remain calm and professional in crisis situations. * Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's Licence. * Current Driver's Abstract. * Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search. * Child Intervention Record Check. * Standard First Aid & CPR Level C + AED. * Medication Administration Certification (or willingness to obtain). * Trauma-Informed Care Training. * Suicide Prevention Training (ASIST or SafeTALK). * Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or similar behavioural intervention training. * Restrictive Procedures Training (or willingness to obtain). Assets Preference will be given to candidates with: * Experience working in residential care or group homes. * Experience supporting Indigenous children, youth, or families.
