End Client: State of South Carolina - OIT Job Title: Cloud Architect Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension) Location: Remote with occasional visit to Columbia, SC Hours Per Week: 40 Interview Type: 1 Round – Virtual/Online Ceipal ID: SSC_CLOU129_MA Job Code: 12901 The Department of Technology Operations (DTO) requires support in deploying and managing State-Wide Information Technology Shared Services Cloud initiatives . This position will advance the State of South Carolina Cloud Strategy , assist agencies with adoption, and support the managed cloud broker . Scope of Work Provide day-to-day operational support for migrations to AWS/Azure Cloud infrastructure . Assist in the transition to a managed cloud broker model . Daily Duties & Responsibilities Perform system administration, automation, and development tasks for the Cloud Management Platform (CMP). Collaborate with DTO and agency personnel to facilitate cloud migrations . Ensure continuity of shared services across AWS and Azure environments. Required Skills 10+ years in infrastructure, systems engineering, DevOps, or architecture 8+ years in technical architecture 5–7 years AWS (IAM, Organizations, Networking Architectures, Cost Management controls) 3–5 years Azure (RBAC, Azure AD, Networking Architectures, Cost Management controls) 3–7 years enterprise cloud architecture or governance 3–5 years Terraform / Infrastructure as Code 3–5 years cloud migrations and platform operations 3+ years technical leadership and knowledge transfer Strong public cloud infrastructure expertise Preferred Skills Advanced Terraform IaC expertise Knowledge of scaling technologies and solutions Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, or container platforms Security expertise: penetration testing, threat detection tools Experience with ServiceNow, Datadog, Dome9, Aviatrix Background in DevOps, Software Development, Site Reliability, or Systems Engineering Experience with configuration management and continuous deployment Required Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems 8+ years of technical architecture experience with hands-on engineering Certifications AWS and/or Azure certifications preferred V Group Inc. is a NJ-based IT Services and Products Company with its business strategically categorized in various Business Units including Public Sector, Enterprise Solutions, Professional Services, Ecommerce, Projects, and Products.
