Job Title: Program and Events CoordinatorOrganization: New Brunswick Social Pediatrics Inc. (NBSP)Location: Saint John, NB (in-office and community-based)Employment Type: Full-time, 12-month contract, with potential for renewalStart Date: August / September 2026About Us New Brunswick Social Pediatrics Inc. (NBSP) is a Saint John-based charity committed to improving the health and well-being of children and families facing poverty and adversity. We operate a community social pediatrics clinic, offer wraparound programs for children and youth, and collaborate with families and community partners to address the root causes of poor health and social outcomes.The PositionThe Program and Event Coordinator will be dedicated to community outreach, partnership development, volunteer coordination, community and fundraising event coordination, and program coordination for children, youth, and their families. They will foster and maintain strong and trusting relationships with children, families, partnering organizations, and members of the community.Key Responsibilities:Develop, coordinate, and facilitate programs that take a strength-based approach to child, youth, and family development.Maintain detailed records of all programs and events, including human resource requirements, space requirements, set-up details, supply lists, curriculum materials, facilitation protocols, timelines, itemized agenda of events, and post-event debriefs.Create trusting relationships with the program participants and their families.Maintain a supply inventory necessary for all programs and events, and purchase items as needed.Manage program and event budgets, track income and expenses, and regularly report on budget status.Lead the planning and execution of NBSP programs and events by coordinating volunteer and staff, Set-up and supplies, registration, communications (including printed materials).Act as primary liaison for program and event coordination among partnering organizations to ensure all details regarding setup are organized and communicated clearly to all parties involved.Maintain regular contact with program participants and families to ensure that any barriers to participation in NBSP programs are mitigated and needs are addressed accordingly.Conduct periodic research and environmental scans on best practices at the international, national, provincial, and local level regarding program interventions for children and youth, and families that take a trauma-informed, anti-racist-sexist-and trans/homophobic, and child rights approach.Identify and facilitate potential partnerships to support program delivery.Recruit, vet, train, coordinate, and supervise program and event volunteers.Coordinate activities to engage patients and families attending clinic appointments.Work collaboratively with the NBSP Research Team.Maintain accurate and up to date records on program participants in the database and report on program outcomes.Collaborate with the NBSP Research Team and Executive Director to draft applications for program-specific funding opportunities, as well as interim and final reports to program funders.Other duties as required.Qualifications Minimum two (2) years of program and/or event coordination experience.Ability to speak publicly and effectively at NBSP events and programs.Ability to take ownership of projects and follow through to completion.Ability to attend work on a regular basis in person, including some evenings and weekends.Ability to work with children and youth from complex backgrounds and needs in a trauma informed manner that respects their rights (I.e., children who have experienced trauma, toxic stress, have a neurodevelopmental diagnosis, etc.).Ability to provide educational support and facilitate engaging activities for children and youth.Ability to manage complex projects, multi-task, and be flexible to changing situations.Ability to work effectively with a team.Written and spoken competence in English is required.Must have
