Qikiqtaaluk Corporation seeks an experienced Corporate Controller with a thorough knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises and financial policies, procedures and directives. As a key member of the finance team, the incumbent will plan, direct and coordinate all accounting operational functions of the Corporation under the direction of the CFO. Key Responsibilities: * Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions; * Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results; * Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements; * Coordinating activities of external auditors; * Providing management with timely information vital to the decision-making process; * Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement to CFO and implementing new processes, as required; * Evaluating accounting and internal control systems, offering recommendations for improvement to CFO and updating controls, as required; * Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, offering recommendations for improvement to CFO and updating, as required; * Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance; * Hiring, training, overseeing, and retaining skilled accounting staff; and * Managing outsourced finance and accounting services. Qualifications and Skills required: * 10 years? experience in Accounting Role and 3 years? experience as Controller; * MBA in Finance or Accounting or CPA is required; * Excellent people skills, with experience collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team; * Demonstrated experience in financial management and accounting, ideally in the for-profit sector; * Experience should include legal, audit, compliance, budget, and resource development; * Knowledge and/or experience with Nunavut and Northern Canada is an asset; * Proven ability to work with demanding deadlines, independently and with a team; * Excellent organization skills and strong attention to details; * Strong verbal and written communication skills; * Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment; * Strong work ethic, sense of responsibility and confidentiality; * Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks, likely with competing priorities.
