Description
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Calculate crane capacities . Operate mobile and tower cranes to lift, move, position or place equipment and materials. Perform pre-operational inspection. Operate cranes equipped with dredging attachments to dredge waterways and other areas. Assemble tower cranes on site. Operate locomotive cranes to move objects and materials at railway yards. Operate bridge or overhead cranes to lift, move and place plant machinery and materials. Operate cranes mounted on boats or barges to lift, move and place equipment and materials. Perform routine maintenance work. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Boom Truck Crane Operator Trade Certification. First Aid Certificate. Air Brake (Z) Endorsement. Type of cranes: Hydraulic or telescoping boom. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure. Attention to detail. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat. Safety glasses/goggles. Personal suitability: Accurate. Dependability. Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years.
