Job Title: Credit Analyst ? Residential / Residential Acreage (Residences on Large Parcels of Land and Hobby Farms) Overview:Farm Lending Canada is looking for an experienced residential credit analyst to join our growing team. To succeed in this role, it?s important that the incumbent be client-centric and have strong analytical and communication skills and the intuition to understand risks and opportunities in the mortgage application beyond the numbers. A background in agricultural lending is a plus, but not a requirement. If you?re driven, willing to roll up your sleeves as part of a growing team, we?d like to meet you. Role Details:· Review broker applications to determine if sufficient information has been provided for us to properly adjudicate the loan request and contact the submitting broker when additional information or further clarity is required.· Evaluate borrower creditworthiness and eligibility for obtaining a mortgage loan.· Understand and apply multiple complex underwriting policies to loan applications. · Ability to summarize a recommendation for an exception, when warranted and properly mitigated, any applications that require managerial or investor approval. · Review and analyze supporting documentation provided by the broker for accuracy and to determine if the commitment conditions have been met per policy. · Establishing credit terms, pricing, and conditions during the application approval process. · Answer inquiries and questions from credit managers, investors, and brokers.· Provide outstanding customer service to mortgage brokers, keeping them informed and engaged through all the steps of the mortgage approval and funding process ? professionally resolving any problems or issues throughout the application process.· Negotiate terms of the mortgage with investors and mortgage brokers.· Inform all stakeholders (brokers, credit managers, lawyers, and investors) of any approval/decline/adjustment of the mortgage application.· Monitor and report on the application pipeline, aggressively encouraging brokers to respond quickly to requests for additional information and documentation in a timely manner.· Ensure data is compliant with investor and regulatory requirements.· Ensure compliance with privacy laws and confidentiality policies throughout the process.· Provide feedback on new mortgage loan policies.· Develop trust and a strong business relationship with submitting brokers. The Ideal Candidate:· Experience as a credit analyst / mortgage loan underwriter for 5+ years preferably in a fast-paced broker environment, preferably with Alt-A experience. · Previous experience in sales or customer support is an asset.· Working knowledge of Canadian mortgage broker software systems.· The ability to maintain confidential information is a must. · &n
